Professional Negligence Specialist

Arif manages a caseload of professional negligence claims acting on behalf of Client’s who have suffered loss and damage as a result of negligence by their former solicitors with particular emphasis on:

  • Failed litigation,
  • County court judgements entered against Client’s through no fault of their own,
  • Failure to recover credit hire and other special damages,
  • Under settlement of personal injury claims,
  • Road traffic accidents,
  • Serious value injury claims,
  • Recovery of unreasonable deductions for success fees and other fees and charges,
  • Missed claim limitation dates in accordance with the Limitation Act,
  • Failed clinical negligence claims,
  • Adverse costs orders.

Arif is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

By way of background, Arif spent 5 years with Forbes Solicitors in Blackburn where he assisted fee earners with computerised accounts time recording and helped the debt recovery team before being trained to handle claimant personal injury claims including road traffic accidents, employer and occupiers liability and criminal injury compensation claims matters.

Arif was offered the opportunity to work at one of the largest defendant claim law firms and moved to Keoghs Solicitors in Bolton to handle a mixed case load of pre-litigation and litigated fast track road traffic accident claims but this time from a Defendant perspective.

After a year at Keoghs, Arif was offered the opportunity to return to claimant personal injury work, he moved to MRH Solicitors in Bolton (formerly Jiva & Co) to manage a team of claims handlers dealing with a mixed case load of personal injury and credit hire claims. Arif spent approximately 10 years in this position before being offered the opportunity by Mr Ozon to help create and manage a defendant claims company on behalf of a road traffic insurer.

Arif spent the next 3 years as the operations director of Claims Consulting Solutions Ltd in Manchester where he was responsible for 120+ staff and the day to day claims handling processes. Arif was part of the management structure who created a new defendant claims company to defend the interests of insurance companies and their policy holders in claims brought against them following road traffic accidents. The role involved setting up and managing specialist FNOL, recovery, claims, credit hire and fraud investigations teams all defending claims brought against the insurer.

Following the end of the insurance claims handling contract Arif returned to Ozon Solicitors in his present role.
